Good health from the first months or about feeding puppies and young dogs with natural meat food.
The first years of a young dog's life are very important for its development. Nutrition in the first months is no exception. Young puppies are not as adapted and are not able to adapt to nutrition as adult dogs, so we need to take more careful care of them. The balance and quality of daily nutrients are especially important for them, ensuring optimal growth and development.

We will try to briefly explain why owners of young puppies should choose natural meat food and what is the difference between feeding a young puppy and an adult dog.

So how is natural meat food beneficial for a growing puppy?

One of the first things that experts talk about when they recommend feeding young puppies the BARF diet is the digestive benefits. By feeding your puppy a natural meat diet, your puppy’s still-developing digestive system is not exposed to unnatural preservatives, chemicals, and dyes. These processed ingredients do not support the good gut bacteria that are essential for a smooth digestive system. If good gut bacteria are established in your puppy’s intestinal tract while he is young, it will be easier for his body to maintain a healthy digestive system for the rest of his life.
Feeding uncooked food also strengthens your puppy’s immune system. Having a strong immune system in the first few months will make your puppy more resistant to disease throughout his life.

Natural, fresh meat is an excellent "building block" for the bones and muscles of a growing puppy. Feeding a BARF diet improves muscle development and strengthens the bone structure. Most dry foods are rich in soluble carbohydrates, which can lead to irregular growth spurts when muscle and bone development do not match. This can negatively affect your puppy's skeletal structure. If muscles, tendons, cartilage and bones develop differently, you may encounter hip dysplasia, arthritis and other musculoskeletal diseases. Proper skeletal development is especially important for large dog breeds. Feeding on the BARF principle can reduce the risk of growth spurts.

Vegetables, berries and fruits - especially important!
In each recipe of "Top Dog Bistro" you will find the right amount of vegetables, fruits and berries. This is an indispensable part of the diet not only for adult dogs, but also for young puppies!
Vegetables are a useful part of the BARF diet for puppies, providing fiber and phytochemicals.
Fruits and berries provide antioxidants that protect the puppy's body, but due to the sugar content, they should be given only in small quantities - exactly as much as is found in "Top Dog Bistro" recipes.

Let's move on to the main question - how much and how?
Puppies have slightly different nutritional needs than adult dogs. They need more calories for growth and development. The first step in starting to feed your puppy with natural meat food is to calculate how much food he needs.
A growing puppy's daily portion is approximately 5-10% of his body weight, divided into several feedings. It can vary depending on age, size, breed and activity level, so it is important to constantly monitor your growing puppy.
Puppies, especially younger ones, need to eat several times a day. As a rule, puppies under six months old should be fed three times a day. As they grow, this can be reduced to two feedings per day.
