Dry or natural food? Natural!

  • Dry or natural food? Natural!

When buying food products for ourselves, we spend more and more time analyzing their composition on the packaging, looking for products that are as natural as possible and trying to avoid unclear preservatives, additives, and other "E" numbers.

So why do we take the easy way out when choosing what to feed our pet - dry food? After all, a long and healthy life begins with nutrition, and the saying "You are what you eat" applies not only to us, but also to our four-legged friends!

Is the meat in a dry food pellet really meat?
A common dry food package greets us with the phrase “Made from X grams of fresh and organic meat”, and next to the phrase - wonderful-looking ingredients, but the pellets inside are the same (all-powerful dyes) and do not at all resemble “fresh and organic meat”. On the other hand, how can we check how much meat from “free-range, grain-fed chickens” or “grass-fed lambs” is in that indistinguishable pellet? Finally, why should we choose something that is supposedly made from fresh and natural products, if we can choose just fresh and natural products - the BARF diet?

Let's go back to the phrase on the packaging. What is the fresh and organic meat used to "cook" dry food pellets? It's not necessarily the juicy chicken breast or the Angus beef cut on the package. Feathers, blood, horns, hooves are also meat that is included in that "fresh and organic meat" percentage in the dry food composition.

Why should we “fry” food for herbivores?
Humans are the only living beings that heat-treat their food. So why do we have to change our pets’ biological habits and offer them “fried” food? Dry food pellets are processed at temperatures as high as 150 degrees, thus reducing the nutritional value of the ingredients. High temperatures destroy some of the nutrients, enzymes and antioxidants, which are tried to be compensated for by added synthetic vitamins. Such heat treatment promotes the appearance of carcinogens that cause cancer cells, and even the “Premium” or “Super premium” glowing on the packaging does not protect against this. By the way, these two categories of dry food do not have specific regulatory criteria - if “Premium” class gasoline has an extremely high octane number, then “Premium” class dry food will not necessarily have an extremely high percentage of natural ingredients.

Let’s go back to the packaging again: “Made with X grams of fresh and organic meat.” And how many grams of meat remain after processing it at extremely high temperatures?

We often hear “My dog is allergic to chicken.” After trying to feed natural meat food with chicken, it turns out that the dog is allergic not to chicken, but to dry food with chicken. Allergies and intolerances are caused by worthless fillers, which are abundant in dry food. These are corn, wheat, soy and other products with a high sugar and starch content, which often become the cause not only of allergies, but also of obesity and diabetes.

Your pet's health begins in its bowl!
When producing natural and fresh Top Dog Bistro food, we responsibly select suppliers and products that are also suitable for human nutrition. Why? Because we are convinced that real food should not be on packages, but in your pet's bowls.

Top Dog Bistro natural meat food is rich in unprocessed lean protein, healthy fats and vegetable fibers. Pets fed according to the BARF principle have better digestion, because their digestive system is rich in natural enzymes that are "killed" by processed products. Natural nutrients are easier to absorb and digest. Less processed materials, less worthless filler - which means more absorbed materials and fewer "piles" on a well-groomed lawn.

This diet helps maintain antioxidants that fight inflammation and creates a strong acidic environment in the stomach that prevents harmful bacteria. Heat-treated dry food destroys antioxidants and creates an alkaline gut - the perfect environment for bacteria to grow.

And what's more, freezing natural meat food preserves all the nutrients, so it's always fresh.
